Good resolutions for your eyes

The start of a new year is the perfect time to adopt good habits—for yourself, your eyes, and your everyday well-being. At Uvée, we believe that taking care of your visual health can be simple, accessible, and even enjoyable.

Here are a few easy eye resolutions to incorporate into your routine 👇

Resolution #1: Give your eyes a break

Screens are part of our lives, but they can also strain your eyes. A simple tip can make a big difference:

👉 The 20-20-20 rule

Every 20 minutes, take 20 seconds to look into the distance, about 20 meters away. This small gesture helps relax your eyes and reduce visual fatigue.

👉 Remember to blink

When you're focused, especially in front of a screen, you blink less—which can cause dryness and discomfort. Gently force yourself to blink a few times a minute to keep your eyes well hydrated.

Resolution #2: Adopt good habits with your contact lenses

Wearing lenses is convenient and comfortable... as long as you follow a few essential rules, both for the health of your eyes and for the environment.

Here are some best practices to remember:

• Always wash your hands before handling your lenses

• Never use tap water to clean your lenses or lens case

• Clean your lenses with the recommended solution and use fresh solution every day

• Do not sleep with your lenses in, unless they are prescribed for extended wear

• Replace your case regularly (ideally every 3 months).

• Follow the wearing schedule prescribed by your optometrist.

👉 And when it's time to dispose of them

• Never throw your lenses in the toilet or sink.

• Ideally, keep your used lenses and their packaging and bring them back to Uvée: we will ensure they are disposed of or recycled responsibly

• If this is not possible, simply throw them in the trash—but never in water

These small steps help prevent irritation and infection, while also making a concrete gesture for the planet.

Resolution #3: Schedule regular eye exams

Even if your vision seems fine, regular eye exams are essential for early detection of certain eye changes or conditions.

Here is the recommended frequency:

• Every year for children and adolescents aged 1 to 17

• Every two years for adults aged 18 to 55

• Every year for people aged 55 and over

These checkups ensure optimal vision at every stage of life—and allow you to take preventive, personalized care of your eyes.

In Summary

This year, take care of your eyes with small, concrete actions:

• Take regular breaks using the 20-20-20 rule

• Blink more often to reduce dryness

• Adopt good hygiene habits (and organization!) for your contact lenses

• Schedule your eye exam according to your age group

At Uvée, we are here to support you with kindness, transparency, and passion—so that you feel confident and fully in control of your visual health.

We look forward to taking care of your eyes 💫
