Our Team

At Uvée - Optométriste de Quartier, we firmly believe that an eye exam and buying glasses shouldn't be chores. This is why we want to make your experience as pleasant as possible thanks to a human and personalized approach. Here are the team members that you will have the chance to meet on your next visit.

Dr Alex-Anne Harvey, optometrist

Dr. Alex-Anne Harvey, optometry doctorate, had a chance to experience the world of entrepreneurship during her college studies as she co-founded a dance school in her home region of Rimouski. She had to leave this adventure in order to begin her optometry studies at the University of Montreal. Throughout her career, she has been able to get involved at different levels, including the organization Optometry Giving Sight and for the committee responsible for partnerships in the student association. Following her graduation in 2015, she worked in various clinics near Montreal. She particularly enjoys working with children and is known for her sense of empathy. Sensitized for several years to the environmental cause, the idea of combining her passion for optometry with more responsible practices seemed natural to her. She is currently studying in public health at UdeM to apply her knowledge to community and international optometry.

Dr Olivier Parenteau, optometrist

Dr Olivier Parenteau, optometry doctorate, is from Trois-Rivières and practices optometry since 2015. He graduated at the University of Montreal and was honored, that same year, with the  "student of the year" title, a prize awarded by the Association des Optométristes du Québec (AOQ). As a student, he was president of the Association des étudiants en Optométrie de l’Université de Montréal (AÉOUM). He also worked on the redesign committee of the Optometry program and on the interfaculty student council aimed at promoting healthy communication between various health professionals. Since his graduation, he has been practicing in three different independent clinics near Montreal. Last year, he was recruited by Johnson & Johnson to be part of a Canada-wide program of 40 optometrists under the age of 40 to discuss the advancement of optometry in Canada. He is a Montrealer by adoption and is keen to give back to the community.

Dr Steven A. Sutton, optometrist

Dr. Steven A. Sutton, OD, obtained his doctorate in Optometry from the Université de Montréal in 2011 and completed a residency certificate in ocular health in Optometry at the Institut de l'œil les Laurentides in 2013. He is still working there to this day, motivated by the management of ocular pathologies cases such as retinal problems, glaucoma, ocular emergency and dry eye syndrome. During the start up of this eye institute, he was given the mandate to improve the computerized patient record and set up the website thanks to his marked concern for the efficiency of the technological system. His experience allows him to give conference every year on various subjects in continuing education for the training of other optometrists. For him, Uvée was a chance to take part in the creation of a brand new kind of clinic with a strong mission. A place where the goal is to preserve your eyecare as well as our planet.

Dre Anabelle Charlebois, optometrist

Dr. Anabelle Charlebois, optometrist, has developed a professional practice that meets her varied interests while pursuing her graduate studies. Having always enjoyed working with children, it was natural for her to head into a residency in pediatric optometry and binocular vision to complete her curriculum in 2018. She is currently pursuing her Masters in Vision Science, focusing on the visual evaluation after mild craniocerebral trauma. Thanks to her particular experience, she practices in various settings that allow her to intervene with high-level athletes and patients with traumatic brain injury. In fact, she is involved in the training of optometry students at the University of Montreal, as a clinical manager in neuro-optometric rehabilitation and sports vision. At Uvée, her dynamism and her carefulness allow her to provide visual care adapted to her patients. The trust she establishes with them is close to her heart and she makes sure to answer all their questions!

Véronique Rhéaume, optician

Almost ten years ago, after having been a teacher, Véronique reoriented herself in the field of optical sciences to become an optician. On a daily basis, she easily combines her educational side with her passion for optics, making sure to educate customers about the good habits to adopt with their glasses and contact lenses. She shines with her generous listening, her patience and her kindness. In addition to being passionate about animals, dance and plants, Véronique has always been passionate about everything related to ecology and eco-responsibility. Joining the Uvée team was therefore obvious when she decided to integrate her passions into her work environment. She goes a long way in making Uvée a more unique clinic, continually finding ways to improve and optimize her work and the one of her colleagues. Always available and positive, Véronique is a valued member of the team!

Constance Morin, Optical science intern

An eternal student, Constance loves learning and discovering new things. She spent several years at university, studying various programs. After a time in international law, she realized that her desire to help others needed to be a priority in her career choice. Passionate about design and ecology, she also pursued studies in those fields.

Strangely, throughout her life, she was fascinated by glasses. As a child, she dreamt of wearing them, and later, she collected them, without ever realizing she could make a career out of it! She finally discovered the world of optics somewhat by chance while she was studying sexology.

Realizing she could combine her love for science, manual work, and design, she decided to take the leap and began her studies in optical sciences, with the goal of becoming an optician. From being a client to a dedicated employee, Constance has found her place in a field that marries all her interests and allows her to utilize everything she's learned!

Florence Gagnon, optician

Florence is an enthusiastic and welcoming optician at our clinic. After a successful career in television post-production, Florence decided to transition to optics in 2012—a field she has been truly passionate about since a young age. She quickly put her previous skills and experience to use, allowing her to excel in the visual health sector.

Her shift from television to optics has enriched her professional practice, bringing a unique approach and a strong ability to communicate with patients. Her smile and communicative energy make her a particularly popular practitioner.

Florence is dedicated to providing personalized care, making it a priority to listen to and understand the individual needs of every patient. Her passion for optics translates into a constant pursuit of excellence and a keen attention to detail. Her atypical background and her dedication to patient satisfaction make her an invaluable asset to our team.

Naomie Hadida, optician

Naomie is a passionate optician, designer, and illustrator whose expertise covers every stage of eyewear creation. From initial conception and manufacturing to sales and lab work, Naomie has successfully merged her love for illustration with her profession as an optician.

Her unique background, which started in the art world, has enriched her perspective on eyewear design. In 2018, she won the grand prize for the design of the ZAHA frame during the Cégep Édouard-Montpetit design competition. Supported and produced by the creators of VM L'Atelier, the ZAHA frame is now in production and distributed internationally.

At Uvée, Naomie brings not only her technical expertise but also a creative vision that transcends industry conventions. Her ability to merge art and functionality makes her a key member of our team.

Daphné Doucet, optometric assistant

Welcoming, warm, and dedicated, Daphné has years of experience in customer service. Always present and full of energy, she takes pleasure in greeting clients during their visit to Uvée. Her interest in fashion and eyewear makes her the perfect partner for choosing frames! Complementary to her clinic work, her studies in naturopathy are proof of her desire to care for people's health and well-being.

Daphné is always attentive and ready to help. Sparkling and cheerful, her good humor is contagious. She is the clinic's ray of sunshine (without the harmful UV rays)!

Thomas Segura, optometric assistant

Thomas is a young, dedicated member of the team who is currently pursuing his Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Montreal.

Passionate about eye health, he considers this student job ideal, as it combines his studies with a genuine immersion in the field. Cordial and diligent, he ensures he provides quality service while effectively contributing to eye exams and equipment management.

Outside of work, he devotes time to music by playing the piano and practices various sports, which allows him to maintain a balance between his passions and his studies. Every day at Uvée is an opportunity for him to learn and grow in the optometry profession!
